Mikayla is an associate with the business law group at Agro Zaffiro LLP. She was called to the bar in 2025 after completing her articles at a full-service law firm in Hamilton.
Mikayla earned her Bachelor of Arts with distinction from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she was recognized for her academic excellence with the Alumni Bronze Medal for the Faculty of Arts, consecutive merit-based in-course scholarships, and a consistent place on the Dean’s Honour Roll throughout her undergraduate studies.
She gained early admission to Western Law after just three years of undergraduate study and received the Harold G. Fox Entrance Scholarship. Mikayla completed her Juris Doctor in 2024. During law school, she mentored aspiring law students, volunteered at the Elgin-Oxford Legal Clinic, and competed in both the First Year Appellate Competition and the BLG Client Counselling Competition, placing as a top 10 finalist in the latter. Her strong legal writing skills were recognized with the publication of her paper on music copyright law in the Canada-United States Law Journal. She also gained valuable practical experience through roles with the legal department of a not-for-profit organization and a summer placement at the Ontario Bar Association.
During her articles, Mikayla developed experience across a range of business law matters including shareholder agreements, mergers and acquisitions, commercial leases, and various corporate transactions. She is excited to continue building her practice and to support the growth and success of local businesses.
Outside of the office, Mikayla is a classically trained violinist and pianist, certified by the Royal Conservatory of Music. She is also an avid skier and a former competitive figure skater.
